Education for All

Frederick Collins’ Plan for Building a Stronger Future Through Education

As your next City of Chicago 2027 Ward Alderman, I am committed to strengthening Chicago Public Schools and making them competitive, innovative, and capable of preparing every student for success. Education is the foundation of our city’s future, and we must ensure every child has access to the tools, resources, and opportunities they deserve.

My Plan to Improve Our Schools Includes

Teachers and students engaged in a lively classroom activity.

1. Improving Academic Achievement

We will focus on raising math and reading scores by investing in high-quality instruction, after-school tutoring programs, and better classroom resources for teachers and students alike.

2. Boosting Student Attendance

Every day in the classroom matters. I will support initiatives to increase attendance rates by engaging parents, expanding mentoring programs, and addressing the challenges that prevent students from showing up ready to learn.

3. Accountability Through Action

Chronic absenteeism holds our students back. I will advocate for a renewed truant officer program that works with families to get students back in school and back on track.

4. Practical Skills for Real Life

Our students must be prepared not only for college but for life. I will make home economics, wood shop, cursive writing, drivers education and financial literacy—including banking and creditrequired courses for graduation. These subjects build independence, creativity, and real-world financial understanding.
